• Transcriptions created from voice recordings.
• Generated information, including themes, insights, connections, summaries, content suggestions and other outputs generated from your captures.
• Voice and writing preferences where you use features designed to help Gobstock produce content that better reflects your style.
• Technical information, such as device type, operating system, app version, IP address, diagnostic information, error information and security logs.
• Usage information, such as how features are used, performance information and interactions with the app.
• Subscription and transaction information relating to your plan, billing status and purchase channel if you later choose to purchase a paid Gobstock subscription.
• Communications you send to us, including beta feedback, support requests and correspondence.
• Beta application information, such as your name, email address, phone platform, what you do, how you currently capture or store ideas, frustrations you tell us about, whether you are willing to provide feedback, and any consents or preferences you submit with the application.

Information inside your captures

Gobstock is deliberately designed to accept unstructured information. That means a capture may sometimes contain personal information about you or another person.

For example, you might record something a customer said, upload an image containing a person, mention a colleague in a voice note or type information relating to a client.

You are responsible for deciding what you put into Gobstock and for ensuring you have an appropriate right or lawful basis to capture information about other people.

Special category information

Gobstock is not designed specifically for storing sensitive personal information, but because users control what they capture, information may occasionally include data regarded as particularly sensitive under data protection law.

This can include information about health, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, political opinions, trade-union membership, genetic or biometric information, sex life or sexual orientation.

Please think carefully before intentionally uploading highly sensitive information about yourself or someone else.

Where the law requires an additional condition before this type of information can be processed, that condition must also apply.

How we use your information

We use personal information to operate and improve Gobstock.

This may include using information to:

• create and manage your account;
• authenticate you securely;
• store and retrieve your captures;
• transcribe voice recordings;
• analyse captures to identify themes, patterns, connections and potential opportunities;
• generate content, ideas, summaries and other outputs you request;
• provide search and retrieval features;
• remember preferences associated with your account;
• provide technical support and respond to questions;
• investigate bugs, crashes and performance problems;
• protect Gobstock, users and our systems from abuse, fraud and security threats;
• manage subscriptions and account entitlements;
• assess beta applications and manage beta participation;
• develop and improve Gobstock's features and user experience;
• communicate with beta applicants and testers about testing, access, installation and product updates;
• review voluntary beta feedback and use it to improve Gobstock;

How AI is used in Gobstock

Gobstock uses artificial-intelligence and automated processing technologies to work with information you choose to capture.

This may include analysing text, transcribing recordings, identifying themes or similarities, connecting related captures and generating content or suggestions.

AI-generated results are there to assist you. They do not make legally binding or similarly significant decisions about you.

You remain in control of whether to use, publish, ignore, edit or act upon anything Gobstock generates.

Do we use your captures to train AI models?

Your captures are processed where necessary to provide the Gobstock features you request.

We do not treat your private Gobstock captures as publicly available content simply because they are processed by an artificial-intelligence service.

Where third-party AI providers are used, we select services and arrangements intended for application or business use and require personal information to be handled in accordance with applicable data-protection requirements and our contractual arrangements.

If the way we use customer information for AI development changes materially in future, we will update this Privacy Policy and, where legally required, seek an appropriate choice or consent.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share or make information available to carefully selected service providers where this is necessary to operate Gobstock.

These may include providers of:

• cloud hosting and infrastructure;
• database and file storage;
• authentication and account management;
• artificial-intelligence and transcription services;
• email and customer communications;
• analytics and error monitoring;
• payment and subscription processing where you purchase a subscription;
• Apple App Store, TestFlight and Google Play distribution;
• security and fraud-prevention services; and
• professional advisers where reasonably necessary, such as accountants, lawyers or insurers.

Service providers may only process personal information in accordance with the role they perform and applicable contractual and legal requirements.

Apple and Google

If you install or purchase Gobstock through Apple's App Store, TestFlight or Google Play, Apple or Google may separately collect and process information about your account, device, download, subscription or purchase.

That processing is governed by the relevant platform provider's own privacy information as well as applicable law.

We may receive limited information from those platforms needed to confirm app access, purchases, subscriptions or technical information.

International transfers

Some technology providers used to operate Gobstock may process information outside the United Kingdom.

Where personal information is transferred internationally, we take steps intended to ensure an appropriate level of protection.

Depending on the destination and provider, this may include relying on UK adequacy regulations or recognised contractual safeguards for international transfers.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including providing Gobstock, managing beta applications and participation, maintaining security and meeting legal obligations.

Retention periods vary depending on the type of information.

• whether you are participating in or have applied for the beta;

• the sensitivity and volume of the information;

Deleting your captures

Gobstock includes functionality intended to allow you to remove individual captures.

Where a capture is deleted, related information may also need to be removed from associated processing systems.

Deletion may not always be instantaneous from temporary backups, technical logs or systems designed to protect service integrity, but information will not be retained indefinitely simply because it once existed.

Deleting your account

You may request or initiate deletion of your Gobstock account using the account-deletion functionality made available within Gobstock or by contacting us where appropriate.

Account deletion is intended to remove information associated with your account except where limited retention is reasonably necessary for legal compliance, fraud prevention, security, accounting or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

Leaving the beta or choosing not to continue with Gobstock after the beta does not automatically prevent you from requesting deletion of your account or exercising your data-protection rights.

Security

We use technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information against accidental loss, unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure.

Measures may include authenticated accounts, access controls, separation of user information, validation of uploaded files, technical monitoring and restrictions designed to prevent unauthorised access.

No internet-connected service can promise absolute security, so you should also protect your device and account credentials.

Beta applicants and testers

If you apply to join the Gobstock founding beta, we may use the information in your application to review whether the beta appears suitable for you, manage the limited number of beta places and communicate the outcome of your application.

If you are approved, the current founding beta is provided free of charge. We do not require payment information simply for you to participate in the free beta.

We may use your contact information to manage your beta access, provide installation information, tell you about significant beta changes and ask for feedback.

Feedback you voluntarily provide may be used to investigate issues, understand how people use Gobstock and improve the product.

Participation in the beta does not automatically create a paid subscription. If you are later offered the option to continue with a paid Gobstock plan, any payment or subscription information will only be collected as part of that separate purchase process.

Applying for or joining the beta does not automatically mean that you have agreed to unrelated marketing. Where marketing consent is required, we will ask separately.

Marketing communications

Where you have agreed to receive marketing from us, we may send information about Gobstock features, launches, offers and related updates.

You can unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time by using the unsubscribe option in the message or contacting us.

We may still send important non-marketing communications relating to your account, beta participation, security, purchases or operation of the service.

Website cookies and similar technologies

The Gobstock website may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for the site to function, remember settings, understand website performance or support permitted marketing activity.
